Direct Access Program (DAP): Tools & Guides

Direct Access Program

Direct Access Program (DAP)

The Direct Access Program is sponsored by the Capital District Library Council. In addition to the Interlibrary Loan Service, Sage students, faculty, and staff may obtain a Direct Access Program (DAP) card from the library.

The DAP card allows library patrons in good standing to borrow materials directly from participating libraries throughout the Capital District. Over sixty academic, public, law, medical, government, and corporate libraries with combined resources of more than 7 million books and 30,000 magazine and journal titles participate in DAP. Many libraries permit all DAP card holders to borrow, while others have some restrictions.

You are responsible for abiding by the rules and regulations of each of the libraries from which you borrow. Also be advised that each library reserves the right to rescind the DAP card of anyone who abuses the DAP borrowing privileges. You are responsible for all materials borrowed until they are returned to the lending library.

If you are interested in obtaining a DAP card, please bring your Sage ID card to the circulation desk at the Albany or Troy Campus Libraries.

Please visit the Capital District Library Council web site for more information.
